Enjoying the Busan Breeze. Senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and esteemed members of the Central Luzon Congressional Bloc during their short day-trip to Busan. The trip was hosted by the Busan Metropolitan Government.

07 April 2023, BUSAN-Former President and Senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo together with members of the Central Luzon Congressional Bloc visited Busan, Republic of Korea on 25 March 2023. The parliamentary delegation was welcomed by Busan Mayor Park Hyeong Joon, Busan Ambassador for International Relations Jaehyun Shin, and members of the Busan World Expo 2030 Committee.

Addressing officials from the Busan Metropolitan Government who welcomed the delegation, Senior Deputy Speaker Macapagal-Arroyo shared that since the time she was President, the Philippines and the Republic of Korea's relations have continued to flourish through deeper partnership across all areas, from political, economic, to people-to-people ties. She likewise conveyed that the Republic of Korea will always hold a special place for the Philippines owing to our shared history of fighting for peace and stability during the Korean War.

Busan is the Republic of Korea's second-largest city with a large Filipino migrant community. Mayor Park for his part assured the congressional delegation that the Busan Metropolitan Government will continue to work on strengthening PH-ROK relations in the years to come. END

PH AMBASSADOR MEETS CHAIR OF ROK–PH PARLIAMENTARY FRIENDSHIP GROUP

8 January 2026, Seoul – Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea H.E. Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez met with National Assembly Member Representative Kim Sung-won, Chair of the Republic of Korea–Philippines Parliamentary Friendship Group, at the National Assembly on 8 January 2026 to discuss strengthening parliamentary exchanges and bilateral cooperation between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea. Chairman Kim reaffirmed his strong support for deepening the Philippines–ROK strategic partnership and outlined prospective engagements with Philippine legislative leaders and business stakeholders. Both sides exchanged views on enhancing economic cooperation, and sustaining people-to-people ties.
