SEOUL PE CONDUCTS SECOND CONSULAR OUTREACH IN DAEGU

DAEGU, 12 to 13 May 2017 ? The Philippine Embassy in South Korea conducted its two-day consular outreach mission on 12 and 13 May 2017 in Daegu Metropolitan City, the fourth largest city in South Korea after Seoul, Busan, and Incheon

The consular mission, the second for the year, was held at the Catholic Workers' Center in downtown Daegu in coordination with the Daegu Filipino Community Council (DFCC) headed by its Chairman, Mr. Lito M. Amit. The six-member consular team was led by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Ella Karina R. Mitra.

The Consular Team tallied a total of 348 cases of passport applications, civil registration, notarials, travel documents, NBI clearances, and certifications during the two-day outreach.

Daegu, which is 238 kilometers south of Seoul, is home to 1,687 Filipinos (as of 31 March 2017 per Korean Immigration data).

PH AMBASSADOR MEETS GREEN CLIMATE FUND OFFICIALS IN SONGDO

19 March 2026, Songdo - Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez met with senior officials of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) led by Mr. Hemant Mandal, Director of the Asia and the Pacific Region, at their headquarters in Songdo, Incheon for cordial exchange on the Philippines’ cooperation with the Fund and shared efforts to advance climate resilience and sustainable development. The meeting underscored the importance of continued collaboration in supporting climate action and strengthening access to climate finance for vulnerable and developing countries, including the Philippines. The meeting with GCF officials also highlighted the productive partnership between the Philippines and the Fund. Prior to the meeting, Ambassador Fernandez also met with Filipino professionals working in the GCF. The Philippine Embassy in Korea is proud to note that Filipinos serving in the GCF continue to make valuable contributions across the institution.
