Seoul PE Conducts Seminar on Filipino Culture


A two-day seminar on Filipino culture was conducted at the Embassy of the Philippines on 19-20 January 2010 which was attended by 160 principals and teachers from various public elementary and secondary schools in Gangwon province.

Ambassador Luis Cruz headed the roster of speakers which also included Post’s Cultural Officer, Mr. Mylo Fausto; Labor Attaché, Atty. Delmer Cruz; and Ms. Ai Ja Jeon, Trade Assistant of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center. The seminar was conducted in cooperation with the Chuncheon National University of Education to familiarize the Korean public school teachers with the Philippines and its culture. Topics like general information on the Philippines, its people, customs and values, the Filipino Community in Korea, and Doing Business in the Philippines were discussed. The seminar was intended to familiarize the participants on the Philippine culture as they deal with the children of the multicultural families, especially the Filipino-Korean students, in their respective schools. The Embassy is actively pursuing several projects to promote multiculturalism in Korea and is currently working with the Korean government and various Korean non-governmental organizations to promote Philippine culture to the Korean people in general.

Legal Forum on Marriage Migrants' Issues

01 March 2026, Seoul, Republic of Korea- In observance of National Women’s Month and in support of Filipino marriage migrants in the Republic of Korea, Embassy officials, led by Consul General Edwin Gil Q. Mendoza, took part in a legal forum addressing key concerns on marriages, divorces, and visa-related issues affecting Filipino marriage migrants in D-Square, Dangsan, Yeongdeungpo, Seoul.
