UNITED FIL-KOREAN FAMILIES (UFF) SUCCESSFULLY HOLDS THE 2nd EDITION OF MRS. BUSAN PHILIPPINES 2025 PAGEANT

26 August 2025, Busan, Republic of Korea – The United Fil-Korean Families (UFF) led by its President, Mrs. Ma. Cherry Ann Baek, successfully organized the second year of Mrs. Busan Philippines at the Korea Foundation - ASEAN Culture House (KF-ACH) in Haeundae-gu, Busan. The event gathered the Filipino community, Korean partners, and friends to celebrate the strength, beauty, and inspiring stories of Filipinas in Busan.

With the theme of women’s empowerment and cultural pride, Mrs. Busan Philippines 2025 served as a platform for married Filipinas to showcase their intelligence, talents, advocacies, and leadership values. More than just a pageant, the program highlighted the resilience of marriage migrants who have embraced life in Korea while remaining proud of their Filipino identity.

A congratulatory video message by Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Edwin Gil Q. Mendoza of the Embassy of the Philippines in Seoul was shown during the program, extending his warm greetings to the organizers, participants, and guests. He commended the event for honoring the contributions of Filipinas in Busan and for fostering unity within the Filipino community.

Members of the Embassy also joined the celebration as part of the distinguished Panel of Judges. Mr. Anthony Z. Cornista, Cultural Officer and Attaché, returned for the second time as judge, providing cultural insight and sensitivity in the Creative Traditional Attire Category. Ms. Fatima Diema C. Tabio, Assistance to Nationals Officer and Attaché, also served as judge, drawing from her years of experience in providing guidance and welfare support to the Filipino community, especially marriage migrants.

The Question-and-Answer portion addressed a diverse set of relevant themes such as women’s empowerment, the challenges faced by single mothers, life in Korea, multicultural marriage, and cultural differences—topics that resonated strongly with the contestants.

Twelve inspiring candidates from across southern Busan showcased grace, confidence, and talent in a spirited pageant. The coveted titles went to Mrs. Lea Gil of Yeongdo City, crowned Mrs. Busan Philippines 2025; Mrs. Yoo Jeong Been of Yangsan City, awarded Mrs. Busan Philippines – Culture 2025; and Mrs. Hannah Sarmiento of Centum City, honored as Mrs. Busan Philippines – Tourism 2025

The pageant concluded with the crowning of this year’s Mrs. Busan Philippines, who was recognized not only for her beauty and grace but also for her embodiment of leadership, resilience, and service to the community.

UFF expressed gratitude to the Embassy, community leaders, sponsors, and supporters who contributed to the success of the event, underscoring that Mrs. Busan Philippines will continue to be a celebration of empowered Filipinas who inspire their families, uplift their communities, confidence-builder, and promote multi-cultural understanding in the Republic of Korea. 25 February 2026, Chungcheonbuk-do, Republic of Korea. The Philippine Embassy in Seoul extends its warmest congratulations to Cadet 1CL Euniño Joaquin F. Manuel on the completion of his cadetship at the Republic of Korea Air Force Academy (ROKAFA) during its 74th Graduation Ceremony held at the parade grounds in Chungcheongbuk-do, Republic of Korea. Cadet Manuel graduated with a Bachelor of Military Arts and Science, major in Mechanical Engineering, continuing the strong tradition of Philippine cadets at ROKAFA being consistently recognized for their solid academic and military performance, professionalism, and discipline.

GMA Municipality Officials Call on PH Ambassador

25 February 2026, Seoul, Republic of Korea — Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea H.E. Bernadette Therese Fernandez welcomed officials of the Municipality of General Mariano Alvarez (GMA) in Cavite, led by Sangguniang Bayan Member Angela Lenin Paycana, on 25 February 2026.  The GMA officials were in the Republic of Korea on a study visit as part of the Feasibility Study for the Digital Transformation of the Schedule of Market Values (SMV) and Real Property Tax (RPT) Valuation Standards.  The project would support the GMA Municipality in establishing a modern, transparent and reliable RPT system that could be a model for other municipalities and cities in terms of predicting the schedule of fair market values of the properties in their respective jurisdictions.  The project would provide recommendations for improving the current system of property/land valuation in the Philippines.
