MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS SEMINAR PARA SA MGA OFWs SA SOUTH KOREA, MATAGUMPAY NA PINANGUNAHAN NG EMBAHADA


H.E. Ambassador-designate Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez ay naghatid ng isang taos-puso at makahulugang mensahe na lubos na nagbigay-inspirasyon at nag-udyok sa mga kalahok.

23 Nobyembre 2025, Seoul, South Korea. Matagumpay na isinagawa ng Embahada ng Pilipinas, sa pamamagitan ng Migrant Workers Office (MWO) at Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) South Korea, ang “Mental Health Awareness Seminar para sa mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) sa Korea” noong Nobyembre 23, 2025 sa 3rd floor ng MWO–OWWA Building. Ang programa ay bahagi ng patuloy na adbokasiya ng Embahada na pangalagaan ang kabuoang kapakanan at kalusugan, kasama ang pangkaisipan, ng mga Pilipinong manggagawa sa South Korea.

Sinimulan ang programa sa pamamagitan ng panalanging pinangunahan ni OWWA Administrative Staff Jaylord M. Caronan. Nagbigay naman ng Welcome Remarks si Labor Attaché Rosemarie G. Duquez, kung saan binigyang-diin niya ang kahalagahan ng mas matibay na suportang pangkaisipan para sa mga OFWs na humaharap sa iba’t ibang hamon sa ibang bansa.

Naghandog ng makahulugang mensahe si H.E. Ambassador-designate Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez, na kung saan muli niyang pinagtibay ang pagpapatuloy ng suporta ng Pamahalaan ng Pilipinas na pangalagaan ang kabuuang kapakanan ng mga Pilipinong manggagawa sa Korea. Binanggit niya ang kahalagahan ng mental wellness sa pagtaas ng produktibidad, pagiging matatag, at pagpapanatili ng maayos na komunidad ng mga Pilipino.

Pinangunahan ni Dr. Jovelyn E. Kim, na isang bihasa sa mental health at espesyalista sa clinical psychology, ang seminar proper, kung saan tinalakay niya ang mga praktikal na paraan ng pagharap sa stress, balanseng pamumuhay, at pagpapalakas ng emosyonal na katatagan. Naging aktibo ang mga dumalo at lubos na pinahalagahan ng mga kalahok ang makabuluhang kaalamang kanilang natutunan, lalo’t tumutugon ito sa kanilang aktwal na karanasan at pang-araw-araw na hamon.

Pagkatapos ng talakayan ay ipinagkaloob ang mga sertipiko ng partisipasyon. Nagbigay naman ng Closing Remarks si Welfare Officer Cornelia DG. Chanco, na nagpahayag ng pasasalamat sa aktibong pakikilahok ng mga dumalo at muling tiniyak ang patuloy na suporta ng OWWA sa komunidad ng mga OFW. Kanyang binigyang-diin na sa ilalim ng 10-Point Agenda at Alagang OWWA framework ni Administrator Caunan, mananatiling pangunahing misyon ng OWWA ang pagtataguyod ng isang ligtas, matatag, at mentally resilient na Filipino migrant community. Bahagi ito ng ilalim ng mas pinatibay na serbisyong kilala bilang “Alagang OWWA”, na nakatuon sa maagap, makatao, at komprehensibong pagtugon sa pangangailangan ng bawat OFW.

Sa pamamagitan ng gawaing ito, patuloy na isinusulong ng Embahada, MWO, at OWWA ang misyon nitong pangalagaan ang kapakanan ng mga Pilipinong manggagawa sa Korea sa pamamagitan ng pagtitiyak na ang mental health ay nananatiling pangunahing bahagi ng kanilang mga programa para sa komunidad. END

Si OWWA Administrative Staff Jaylord M. Caronan ay nagsilbing tagapagpadaloy ng buong programa, na may kahusayan at gumabay sa maayos na daloy ng aktibidad. Si Labor Attaché Rosemarie G. Duquez ay nagbigay ng masinsin at makahulugang panimulang pananalita (opening remarks) na naglatag ng layunin at kahalagahan ng programa. Samantala, si Welfare Officer Cornelia DG. Chanco ay naghatid ng makabuluhan at nagbibigay-pasasalamat na pangwakas na pananalita (closing remarks) bilang pagtatapos ng gawain. Bukod dito, si Dr. Jovelyn E. Kim, bilang Resource Speaker, ay nagbahagi ng kanyang dalubhasang kaalaman at mahahalagang pananaw na lubos na nakatulong at nagbigay-inspirasyon sa mga kalahok.

PH AMBASSADOR MEETS GREEN CLIMATE FUND OFFICIALS IN SONGDO

19 March 2026, Songdo - Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez met with senior officials of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) led by Mr. Hemant Mandal, Director of the Asia and the Pacific Region, at their headquarters in Songdo, Incheon for cordial exchange on the Philippines’ cooperation with the Fund and shared efforts to advance climate resilience and sustainable development. The meeting underscored the importance of continued collaboration in supporting climate action and strengthening access to climate finance for vulnerable and developing countries, including the Philippines. The meeting with GCF officials also highlighted the productive partnership between the Philippines and the Fund. Prior to the meeting, Ambassador Fernandez also met with Filipino professionals working in the GCF.
