Philippine Embassy Empowers Filipino Community Leaders in South Korea

08-09 November 2025, Daejeon, Republic of Korea - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul successfully conducted the 3rd Filipino Community Leaders’ Camp on 8–9 November 2025 at the National Center for Forest Education, Daejeon, South Korea. With the theme “Empowering Leaders: Updates, Services, and Security for the Filipino Community in South Korea,” the two-day event brought together 65 Filipino community leaders from across the country to strengthen unity, leadership, and collaboration within the Filipino community.

ADVISORY: WARNING AGAINST ILLEGAL LOAN-SHARKING SCHEMES TARGETING FOREIGN WORKERS

The Philippine Embassy, through its Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Korea, wishes to inform all Overseas Filipino Workers of a recently uncovered large-scale illegal loan-sharking operation that victimized more than 9,000 foreign workers across the country.

Matagumpay na isinagawa ng Embahada ng Pilipinas, sa pamamagitan ng Migrant Workers Office (MWO) at Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) South Korea, ang “Mental Health Awareness Seminar para sa mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) sa Korea” noong Nobyembre 23, 2025 sa 3rd floor ng MWO–OWWA Building. Ang programa ay bahagi ng patuloy na adbokasiya ng Embahada na pangalagaan ang kabuoang kapakanan at kalusugan, kasama ang pangkaisipan, ng mga Pilipinong manggagawa sa South Korea.

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul, through the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in South Korea, successfully held the 2025 Skills Training Program Graduation Ceremony on December 7, 2025, at the Ramada by Wyndham Seoul Dongdaemun, celebrating the achievements of 360 Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) graduates who completed various livelihood and skills training courses throughout the year.

Para sa: Lahat ng Foreign Residents na Walang Legal na Status (Undocumented) Ang Ministry of Justice ng South Korea ay naglulunsad muli ng "Special Voluntary Departure Program" (SVDP) para sa mga dayuhang residente na walang legal na status (undocumented) na nais kusang umalis sa South Korea sa itinakdang panahon.
